Friends Face Swap

Found this picture on the internet and just had to post it on here! Too funny! Pheobe's face with Ross's hair/body looks like it could actually be legit!
All the characters of the TV show friends switched faces!

Sex and the City

The women of Sex and the City
Charlotte York, Carrie Bradshaw, Samantha Jones, and
 Miranda Hobbes
I've been watching the HBO TV series Sex and the City. I love it. I am already halfway done the last season. I watched the movie when it came out and halfway through i was bored out of my mind. I thought it was the longest most dull movie ever, I couldn't wait for it to end!

The series on the other hand is great. It's smart, sexy, clever, and at times it's hilarious. You really grow to love the characters. Although, I thought that the acting in the first season was pretty bad, but it gets so much better. I love all four women  and feel like I know them as if they were real life friends.

I also feel like I've learned things from this series. I feel like sex shouldn't be taken so seriously (not to say I should sleep around.) Another thing; it's important to be yourself. There's no point in acting like anyone other than yourself, you're wasting no ones time but your own.

I am almost tempted to watch the movies again just to see if I would like them better once I have seen the series, and know the characters better.

The Body

Joyce on the couch when Buffy finds her.
Since the vampire diaries was on hiatus, i started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I saw a couple of episodes on TV a while ago. And so i started watching it from the beginning. The other day I came to the episode called the body. This was really unexpected, but this episode was one of the most moving episodes I have ever seen. Of any series.

In the episode Buffy walks into her house to find that he mom is lying dead on the couch. In that first couple of minutes where she deals with trying to revive her mother, calling the paramedics, and finally realizing that her mother is dead I cried harder than I have ever cried.

I have to admit, I can be a pretty cold hearted person. It takes a lot to make me cry. The only other time, that i can think of, that I cried at a TV show was the very last episode of Six Feet Under. That was another very well done episode.

But back to Buffy. So throughout the whole episode there is no "mood music" or anything, the only sounds are the dialogue and background noises. It is truly an amazing episode. Honestly, the first 4 and a half seasons are worth watching just to get to this episode. Although, I don't think it would be as good if you haven't seen the first seasons. You really grow with the characters and they all have a special bond with Joyce (Buffy's mom). During the episode you really see how hard death hits you, and how it effects everyone differently. Buffy has to be strong for her little sister, Dawn tries to rebel, and how Anya doesn't understand how she could just suddenly die.

If you haven't seen this episode, I can't even explain to you how good it is. If you're looking for a tear jerker, this episode will do the trick. Although, I'm not going to tell you to go watch something like 80 episodes in order to see it, so I guess you'll just have to take my word for it.

Back to Six Feet Under for a minute though, this show is really amazing, the character development and acting is phenomenal. For anyone who's looking for a great show to watch this one is fantastic. It's about a family running a funeral home after their father dies. It's quite funny, but in a darker way. And the way it ends will make you cry. That is a promise!

Thank god the vamps are back!!

The Vampire Diaries
Stefan, Elena, Damon
Oh my god!! I just watched the new episode of The Vampire Diaries on the CW and I love love loooove that show! I just can't even express my excitement.

I don't want to give out any spoilers... But wow; this episode was well worth the wait! Something very crazy happened with Alaric, Katherine, and Elena's mom (who's name I can't remember at the moment).

If you haven't watched it yet then go watch it right now! I'm serious, stop reading this and go watch it!

And if you don't watch the Vampire Diaries... Well... I think that you should serious consider starting.

Also I've been reading a new book called 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher. I just started it the other day, but so far it's pretty good. It's not really my cup of tea, but I am enjoying it. And I think it's going to have a really good message. I'll let you know when I'm done! Can't wait!

Skins Controversy

Skins US
Whoa, I had no idea there was such a huge controversy about this show in the US. Apparently the content is too mature to be shown on MTV and is not appropriate for teens. My opinion? That's crazy!

Okay, some of the content on this show is a little bit mature, but it's no worse than any other show, in my opinion. Think about Jersey Shore! Just because it's not scripted doesn't mean that it's any more acceptable. Does it? In every episode they talk about sex, or more specifically "getting it in." How is that any more acceptable? Because they are adults? Doesn't mean that your teen considers them as adults, and won't mimic it.

I personally think that people are overreacting to this show's content. Parents are saying that it's not appropriate for their children and then they let them watch shows like Jersey Shore and The Real World.

I guess the issue is that the actors are younger, and people are saying it's like child pornography. But here's the truth, had these actors been older, and in their 20's like every other show. People would be complaining about how the actors are too old to be playing teens. The fact that the actors in this show are the proper age is part of what sets it apart from every other show.

If you've seen the UK version you wouldn't be complaining. It is three times worse. All I have to say to the people complaining is, go watch a couple of episodes of the UK version of the show, and then tell me that you still think that MIV's Skins is innapropriate for teens. And don't say it's not the same because that show isn't American. It still airs in the US and any teen with an internet connection can find and watch it online.

Skins

Characters from Skins series 1
So I've started watching a new show; it's called skins. It was originally a British show and is on it's fifth season, I think, in the UK. Now, America has decided to do a remake. So far, there are only two episodes, and I think I'm already hooked. Although, I have to admit, it doesn't take me a lot to get hooked on a new show. Just a bit of teen drama and I'm in!

I watched the episodes this morning, and after the first one I wasn't exactly impressed. I thought the acting was kind of forced. But I've found that the first couple episodes of shows are usually pretty shaky so I decided to give it another shot, and watch the second one. I was pleasantly surprised, I think it really picked up in the second episode and can't wait for the third!

The show is about a group of teens living in Baltimore. It talks about sex, drugs, love, and friendships. From what I can tell, the show follows a different character every episode. I watched the first two episodes of the original, UK version as well, and the first episode is pretty much an exact remake, as well as the characters. The second, on the other hand, follows a different character than the UK's second episode, so I think that they just used the first episode as a jumping off point.

Characters from Skins series 3 & 4
The US version plays on MTV on Monday nights. Unfortunately it doesn't air in Canada, so us Eskimos will have to watch it online. Hopefully MTV Canada will pick it up!

In my opinion this show has a lot of promise, I have heard many good things about the UK version and am off to watch it now!

Jersey Shore or Jersey Bore??

Cast of Jersey Shore
Snooki, Mike (The Situation), Jenn (JWow), Ronnie, Deena,
Pauly D Sammi, Vinnie
(From left to right)
I was catching up on my Jersey shore tonight... aka I had nothing better to do! I really just don't know what to think about this show, it's slightly entertaining because these people are so dumb, but it's mostly just sad and embarrassing to watch.

Which makes me wonder how is it possible that this is the show that is the most watched show on MTV, ever! Is it because people need to know that there are people out there more pathetic than themselves? Is it that we need that feeling of superiority? I really just don't know, and I find it sad that even I have been pulled into this crazy show.

Although, I am proud to admit that I have only seen a total of 5 episodes (3 this season, 1 from the first, and 1 from the second). I have a friend, who up until a week ago had never even heard of Jersey Shore, I was just like "Are you living under a rock?!" I mean, how can you have never heard of this show? People talk about it everywhere I go.
